Eagle Scout Project to build a Marian Grotto at St. John the Evangelist
Our Faith Can Move Mountains! – Matthew 17:20 Kevin Wenzel, a High School Junior in Waynesville, is leading his Eagle Scout Project to build a Marian Grotto at St. John the Evangelist. The Grotto will be dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes in thanksgiving for prayers answered. On the February 11, 2019 Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes St. John the Evangelist made an offer for a lot adjacent to the Church. This land will serve as a much needed recreation field for the parish youth and families. The parish thanks Kevin Wenzel, his parents Dr. Chris and Georgiana Wenzel, and the teens who are assisting with the Eagle Scout Project. Our Lady of Lourdes Pray for Us!

Richard in Charlotte for Chrism Mass with Bishop and Priests of the Charlotte Diocese. Wednesday, April 17 3pm - 5pm: Nail It To The Cross Street Mission with Fr. Richard - on the corner of Miller St. and Main St. downtown Waynesville. Meet at St. John the Evangelist at 2:30pm for Rosary, Missionary Blessing and Prayer, then walk up the street with Fr. Richard Carrying the Mission Cross. 5:30pm - Mass at St. John the Evangelist 6:00pm - Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (7:00pm - Spanish Emmaus Program Adoration at SJE) 7:00pm - Join Fr.
