Welcome!
Welcome to the Smoky Mountains and to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church here in Waynesville, North Carolina! Here we lift our eyes up to the mountains and draw strength from the Lord - maker of heaven and earth! Psalm 121:1-2 It is my hope that you will experience our discipleship in the Lord by our love for one another and you - the guest or welcomed new arrival in our midst. (John 13:35). For here in this place of worship, this local church, this christian community, this assembly of believers we seek JOY in Jesus Christ through serving each other and our neighbors of Haywood County. (John 15:11-12; Luke 6:38) We love and serve our neighbor not because he or she is Catholic, but because we are Catholic. May you experience true gospel charity and joy in our midst as long as the Good Lord permits you to stay. We welcome you as Jesus Christ! (Matthew 25:40).
